I like to hold the possibility

that there was a time 

before menstruating womxn were banned from temple

and there was a different narrative:

That when they were bleeding 

they did not need to go to temple 

to commune with God 

or to become closer to God.

They did not need to go to temple

because they were so energetically attuned 

because their own sacred temple was activated 

they could commune with God 

through their body 

and through their womb

and through their sacred blood

wherever they were.

That when we bleed 

we do not need to go to temple 

to commune with God

We do not need to go to temple

because we are so energetically attuned 

because our own sacred temple is activated 

we can commune with God 

through our body 

and through our womb

and through our sacred blood

wherever we are.
