From Repulsion to Reverence: My Journey With Menstrual Blood

I had been totally repulsed by menstrual blood all my life. I would not have penetration, let alone oral sex, with my partner while she was on her period. I felt it was dirty, something even her body wanted to get rid of. For me her period was just a time I had to wait out to be sexual with her again and I wanted nothing to do with any of it.

Meeting my now wife changed everything around menstrual blood for me. It turned from being a disgusting monthly nuisance, to a whole new world of sacredness and mystery.

It started out with her giving me a piece of toilet paper with her blood on it for me to bury on my land to call her there and back to me. I was thrilled by the power of the act and the idea of her blood making an energetic connection between her and a place she had never visited. And it worked!!! She did come, and now we are married and building a home on that very spot where I burried that paper with her blood on it.

As my dive into this new mysterious world continued I was further introduced to the sacredness and the power of menstrual blood. We drew on each others bodies with her blood, I was annointed with her blood, I witnessed her offering her blood to various places where we visited around the world and how powerful and important those occasions were for her and also for me. I also regurarly witness her drinking her blood.

Then I made us a chalice, a symbol of our tantric union that holds the sacredness and the energies of our union. When she bled I ejaculated in her and we allowed the mixture of our juices to trickle into our chalice and we drank it, ceremoniously full of respect and love. This really sealed my seeing of menstrual blood as sacred, powerfull and clean. All my previous prejudices and repulsions were gone. Drinking that mixture also made me see my semen as sacred and not something to just dispose of.

And a practical tip for those who have a partner in a womans body: My partner has an app on her phone that she uses to track and predict her menstrual cycle. I also have the same app on my phone and I keep it up to date with hers. Now I can check from my phone where she is on her cycle, it gives me a better understanding where she is at as she is different during different times of her cycle and it brings more intimacy between us. You can also use it to support you to connect to the cyclical nature of all of life.
